Nina Nixon

I'm Nina, a photographer, film maker and forever wanderer.  Passionate about nature, the great outdoors and all of life's adventures.

Hello I'm Nina Nixon - a girl that lives for her wax jacket and wellies.

You can always find me with my camera in one hand and eternally hopeful for a cup of green tea in the other.

'Nature loving, tree hugging, beach comber....noticing the little things in life'.

I was born in the English countryside where I spent my early years running through fields and climbing up trees, an idyllic life some would say.  Fast forward a little (past those pesky teenage years) to the south east coast where I spent seventeen years settled with my young family, until the Summer of 2014 when we up sticks and moved 300 miles north to a small village in Cheshire on the edge of the Peak District.

'Travel and the thirst for adventure has always run through my veins'.

I've been blogging since January 2009, not long after my youngest was born and that is when I picked up a camera again and connected with that side of my creativity. Discovering my love of photography once more.

More recently I've dabbling in the world of film making, and the joy it has discovered, sparking a 'whole other' kind of creativity for me.  As well as keeping memories that will stand the test of time.  For both me and my children, friends and family.

My work is focused around my life 'my family' and all the beauty that surrounds it, in the little things that take (some times) just that bit extra to notice.

'From a smile to a tear, laughter or pure joy.  The passion seen in a beautiful sunset, taking in the wonder of a field of grass rippling in the midday sun. The pain and beauty of it all'.

Nature, creativity and the comforts of home are my key things and you can find me most days (when left in peace) with my head either in the clouds (day dreaming) or nose down to the earth (with my camera) marvelling at the wondrous things that take a bit more time to notice.
