My 'Clothkits' Girls
I love Clothkits!! or should that be I heart Clothkits??
I love the patterns and I love the designs, I also have a soft spot for pinafore dresses.
For me, not being able to follow sewing patterns all that well, this is the perfect solution.
I happened upon them by chance early last summer (it must of been fate - I'm a great believer!) whilst staying at my parents. My mum and dad live in Hampshire as do most of my family (that's where I'm originally from) and there was an article on there local news about Clothkits, they are based in Chichester and had just relaunched.
Although I am a baby of the 70's I didn't realise they were around then, maybe being too little or not the sort of thing my mother was into, patterns from 'Woman's Weekly' was more her cup of tea.
As soon as we got home I went straight to the computer to have a look and buy my first kit, it was the green pinafore dress Florence is wearing which is a little bit faded now and she wears it more like a tunic as she's grown out of it, but it was so simple to make and has worn very well.
It will certainly be handed down to Tabitha.
Since then, I have bought various kits for pinafore dresses in various designs, including the one Tabi is wearing. Also bags and hats, pencil cases and dungarees all of which will probably be modelled here at some point or another.
I'm glad there back as I can now indulge my daughters and maybe a skirt or apron for me in the near future??
