Days End

It's that time of the year when the sun sets early on in the afternoon and around these parts it roughly 15:45pm - which for me feels soooooo early, it's like going to bed before 9pm!

Though all is not lost and the waiting is almost over as the Winter Solstice is almost upon us and then ever so gradually the evenings will start get lighter and lighter again.

Now I know this isn't an immediate thing, but does your mood lift when that day has passed??

I tend to have a six week marker which I go and stems back from when I use to walk to and from home and work.

Basically I worked out that roughly six weeks from the new year it would be light again when I walked home at around 5.30pm which you could say is well into the evening and for me a welcome relief.

I like the darkness, but not walking in it - no thank you.

All said and done though there is something magnificent about the sun setting and when the weather is clear it is such a delight to watch, even if it is so early in the day.

Have a wonderful, wonderful weekend - we've got a Christmas tree to put up and the halls to be decked!

What are you're plans this weekend??

Have a good one - xox
