Crochet Alphabet

Well letters really.....

......well just the four to be honest!

You know that book I bought last week?? A crochet book. Welllll I bought another one at the same time :: naughty, naughty - I know!

Anyhow, I've kept this one under wraps so far because.......I wanted to have a go at a little project (well four really) before I mentioned it.

I can't remember the reason 'why' this book caught my eye when perusing Amazon for inspiration, but when I received it I was instantly 'oooooohhhhing' and 'aaaaahhhhhing' over some of the wonderful projects inside - especially the crochet alphabet.

Now I wouldn't say my letters have come out exactly like the pictures in the book - not even close really and I doubt whether a serious amount of blocking and starching would pull them into 'perfect' shape, but do you know what?? I actually quite like the higgledy piggledy way they look and they were such fun to make.

OK so it took me a couple of attempts to get my head around the patterns (again!!) but all in all I would say an hour tops to make each individual letter, if not less and I thoroughly enjoyed the short distraction from going around and around and..........around my crochet blanket which still isn't finished, but.......I will (hopefully) show you a little progress posting later in the week - she says, it's Wednesday already, where has this week gone??

Methinks I may of got too carried away with all the sun exposure - all two days of it!!

As for my four little letters, well I'm not too sure what I will do with them - as usual (ahem!) but the book does suggest sewing them on to a quilt maybe 'or' I could make an individual cushion for each letter and prop them up on the littlest boo's bed like a kind of day bed 'ooorrrrrr' maybe even I could crochet the last three letters (boo) and use them for a new header?? 'Oooooooo' the possibilities!!

Anyhoo, 'cheerio' for now and I hope your having a fabulous day?
