I should of really named this posting 'Weekend Sewing' as that is what I'm planning to do this weekend, but I'm sure I've kind of written the gist of what I'm trying to say - hopefully?
In all that goes on in our busy hectic lives with family, home, children, commitments, responsibilities, demands and pressures sometimes it's easy to forget about oneself especially if you are a mum.
I busy myself most days in ways that are filled for my family, that's my job and I have to say I love it.....even though most of the time I feel like I stuck in a time warp, banging my head against a brick wall in a groundhog day kind of way.
Though whether it be a mundane chore like sorting out the washing or unloading the dishwasher it is always with my family in mind.
My family......keeping them ticking over with clean clothes, home cooked food, warm, well fed, loved and happy - I'm sure there are countless other items I could add to this list.
Anyhow, with all that in mind and being completely bowled over by your fabulous, encouraging comments over the Spring Green blouse I made the littlest Boo over Easter I've decided that (no distractions, hopefully) I am going to sit down and concentrate on making something for 'me' just me and nobody else this weekend!
I guess in all the hustle and bustle of the little world called 'My Life' I always tend to forget about myself. Far too wrapped up most of the time, mostly on auto pilot going along in a general bumbling haze.
Don't get me wrong I'm not whinging or complaining I love my job, it's just some of the times I forget to stop and think about me.
Anyway, I know exactly what I'm going to make because I've already purchased a pattern and dare I say traced and cut it out as well. And as for the fabric I bought some a couple of weeks ago with makey goodness in mind!!
For now though I will keep the 'what I'm going to make' part a little secret (not to jinx things - you understand?) though there is a tiny clue in one of the pictures!!
And if you don't guess, all I will say is :: it is definitely going to be an item of clothing and I will wear it.....even if it is lopsided or wonky or 'oh' I don't know, extremely unflattering - just the once though if that's the case!!
