On My Hook

Good morning -

isn't it a beautiful autumnal day today?? Well it is here - I hope it is with you?

I'm still trying to get use to having a couple of mornings free each week so please excuse me if I seem a little bit scattier then normal. I feel like a silly wide eyed thing that just can't seem to get her bearings. I'll probably come back later and re read over what I've written and think 'what the bleep'

Do you know I actually spent a whole hour - undisturbed - in the BHS lighting department this morning? Well I guess you do now.

Actually it was a complete and utter waste of my time. You see I'm trying to find a new lampshade for our bedroom and failed dismally. I want something soft and feminine, vintage looking and gorgeous, but it's either chandeliers or basic ceiling shades - even Laura Ashley was a complete disappointment.

Anyhow, now you all know what I did this morning.....sorry. Plus it makes absolutely no sense at all with what I'm actually trying to say - crochet!!

As you've probably guessed I haven't finished my ripple blanket (yet) and have started something else - naughty, naughty I know.

To be honest I was getting completely - yawn - bored with the whole edging thing. Just going around and around and around with no light at the end of the tunnel. I've probably only got a couple more balls of wall to go, but the tedium was just pure old getting to me - so I put it down!

Do you ever get like that?

I'm awful - I have so many WIP's on the go that I really should go through them all and finish one at a time. I think my problem is 'craft temptation' there are just too many super projects out there that I want to start, finish and be satisfied with all ........immediately. Crafting slowly is really not me!

Which is why my home is a mess with so many half finished rooms/projects.

Anyway, that's neither here nor there. Back to the subject in hand.

I decided - as a little distraction - that the best way to go would be to start one of Lucy's granny stripe blankets. Easy to assemble and quick as you like. Pick up as and when you can, even in the car as it (has) so happens on quite a few occasions - though I have frogged it at least twice, but that's another story!!

After much deliberation and purchasing from various sites - three I think - I managed to find a colourway that I'm really really happy with and now it's all go, go, go.

Most evenings you can find me zipping along going up and down with my Rowan cashsoft baby yarn changing from muted and pastel colours to vibrant and zingy - the next line is going to be a deep purple - think Cadbury's chocolate......yuuuuummmmmy!!!

And when I get a bit fed up with this one - all I have to do is put it to one side and pick up the ripple which should feel fresh and new and hopefully I'll even mange to finish it!

What's on your hook / needles / machine?

Have a fabulous day.

xXx
