The Little Yellow Top
Thank goodness for Fridays! -
The weekend stretched out in front of us - two whole days of keeping to no ones agenda, but your own. Pure bliss.
Last week I decided to make myself another Sew Liberated blossom blouse as it is still a little too warm to wear the last one I made due to the fact that the fabric is allllll itchy and it needs at least another layer underneath it to stop me looking like some mad women tyring to scratch herself to oblivion.
Now I'm not normally a yellow kind of person - I think because it makes me look quite washed out.
But when I spotted Denyse Schmidt's thistle leaf on sale over at M for Make I was instantly drawn to it.
Maybe because it's more of a mustardy colour then a canary yellow that the colour didn't drain from my face on first spying and maybe because it's that time of year where I tend to look for the more warmer of colours so I feel warm maybe, but I'm really glad I did so.
Weeeeellll because on making - last Thursday - I have already worn it twice and as I speak is already washed and pressed again hanging up with plans to take it out on the town tomorrow evening.
And no messing around with the sleeve this time - I made them just how I like with no elastic midway up the sleeve and added a pleat to pull it in to a suitable (for me) width.
Sounds good doesn't it?
Well if I really knew what I was doing then I could just alter the pattern without all the faff, but as I haven't a clue how to do that with out bodging the lot I just went with what I did know and left it at that.
Plus this time a little puffy shoulder gives this blouse a whole new different look and feel - which I likie........a lot!
I think next time though I am going to make a proper Sew Liberated top with all the trimmings for one of the girls.
Well that's me done for another week - I'm feeling a little worn out at the moment as you can probably see from the last picture. Tired and jaded and in desperate need of a break.
Can't wait for half term to start at he end of next week.
Have a great weekend - enjoy!
