Do you remember all my hints, the tiny little teases and sneaky peeks?
Well I can finally unveil the grand makey thing I have been hiding away for a fair few weeks.
A Little Red Riding Hood and mushroom dress ~ with embroidered motif ~ in white, aqua and red all the way from the U.S. of A from a very lovely and may I add talented lady called Tasha.
This is her Etsy store and this is her beautiful blog and I simply love, love, love her creative way of thinking.
Now I have to admit I was a little daunted with the pattern at first, sent by pdf I wasn't at all sure if I could pull this dress making venture off.
But it was simple. Just print, select the desired size, snip and then assemble (with sticky tape) to make your all in one pattern piece.
~ The pattern and embroidery were sent by pdf and the fabric and other bits needed to make this dress were sent by post (obviously) separately.
You'll have to excuse the crumpled look - as very trendy as it may be, the thrown together look that is - I have to tell myself that, ahem - this dress has been wrapped up in tissue paper for at least a fortnight waiting with anticipation.
But once the pattern was mastered the dress was an absolute dream to pull together - very simple and very very easy - if I can do it then anyone can!
Honestly I have these grand ideas in a dress making sense that I surround myself with various books, patterns, illustrations and instructions, but I always get put off with my lack of knowledge.
Though ever so slowly things are starting to click into place - the right place, I hope.
Before you know it I will be set up in our little back room with a dress makers dummy, my hair pulled back and held in place with a pencil - or pen, I'm not fussy - and pins sticking out of me.....everywhere.
Well that's the day dream.
And with a reluctant Little Miss Boo who did not want her picture taken ~ I'm waaaaaay too busy playing with my new toys mummy, naturally ~ I did manage to take the odd sneaky (in focus) shot.
Have a fabulous day - I hope I have inspired......a little?
