I'm Nina, a photographer, film maker and forever wanderer.  Passionate about nature, the great outdoors and all of life's adventures.  This is the place where I keep all my 'field notes'

We've just come back from a lunchtime walk on the beach and 'ouch' my ears are still stinging.

It's fresh and crisp and sunny out there, but you can just about feel the bite in the air that leaves your nose all frozen and your toes all numb.

It did look quite deceptive though - all calm and serene one end of the shore where the light glinted off the ocean and nearly blinded you with it's twinkle.

But get round the corner and the waves were crashing into each other before they even reached the railings which seemed to either make them grow with more strength and double the whammy as they smashed against the shoreline or have a knock on effect like dominoes dissipating until the last wave in line gently boshed up against the defencive walls.

Going off on a tangent - sorry I'm always doing that in real life too.

We bumped into a friend halfway along the beach, as it so happens on most occasions if you go for a walk on the beach and living here of course.

But she did make us laugh when she questioned 'why' were we out on such a cold day going for a walk in one of the most bitter of places if it wasn't an obligation to the canine variety?

I couldn't answer that to be honest and just giggled - I wonder why?

Well reflecting now I guess I try and live by the saying 'never turn down an opportunity' - the sun is shining and yes it's bitter out there, but it was a most beautiful walk, if somewhat brisk in both the varieties and yes my ears are still stinging, but warming ever so slowly and what better way - if you have the energy - to feel refreshed and invigorated, just from natures elements.

Here's wishing you have a beautiful day too.

ps. I really do need to get myself some of these!
