Taking Inspiration

I've been desperate to do this post for quite a while now.

Well I say quite a while, what I actually mean is at least a good six weeks.

For you see the moment I clapped eyes on this picture of a granny striped scarf from the ever so lovely folks at People Tree - they also have a rather lovely granny stripe blanket as well, though strangely enough for exactly the same price - I just knew I had to have one, but......!

Even though it is lovely and I am fully aware of how much yarn costs and then there is all the time spent in the making (ahem) - I just couldn't justify paying £50 for a scarf - sorry People Tree.

So I decided to make one myself with all my left over Debbie Bliss yarn.

Some colours I used on my blanket back in the Spring and some that I left out because they just didn't fit into my colour combination.

But all jumbled together in a long stripy scarf - now that's what I call a lovely warm and colourful thing of beauty - well to me anyhow.

Not exactly like the inspirational picture I fell in love with at least six weeks ago and 'oh' how I do love the look of that scarf, but something I know I have handmade - little old me - with my very own yarn and many an evening - and snatched moment as well - sat in front of the fire sipping strong tea and snacking on buttered sourdough toast - my comfort food at the moment.

Just a little something to keep this little peep warm and radiate out like a new shiny brass pin on all these cold autumnal - and Winter - days.

All I have to do is tie the ends in and then it's finished - hurrah!

What's inspiring you at the moment?

Finished off pictures next week - I promise.
