Pre Christmas Baking

~ Fig and Cinnamon Cake ~

~ from Country Homes and Interiors - December issue.

There is nothing like a spot of Port or Sherry with dried fruit to get you feeling all Christmassy and merry especially if it's wafting through the house as it's baking - mmmmmmm.

Just the one - slice and all!

~ Lazy Loaf ~

{from Nigella's Express cook book}

~I love this muesli loaf and am a big fan of doughy stuff with fruit, but I always double up the fruit in any recipe I make and with this particular loaf I added lots and lots of dates chopped in half for a really gooey fruity loaf.

Spread with lashings of jam - homemade strawberry preferably - jolly good stuff.

~ Festive Rocky Road'ish' - courteous of Coco Rose ~

I have to say along with the Peanut Butter and Chocolate Ganache Fudge I made a couple of weeks back, this festive rocky road or coconut slabs as Vanessa named them has to be the other of my favourite sweet treats and 'oh yes' there will be a constant (in demand) supply this Christmas.

Though I do have to confess to not having any coconut biscuits so I used what I had to hand - chocolate hob nobs boshed up and I added raisins for a bit of chew.

These are soooooo melt in the mouth naughty, but absolutely delicious and heavenly - oh my my taste buds are tingling at the very thought of a fresh batch coming out of the fridge later today - thank you, thank you, thank you Vanessa ♥♥♥.

And if you fancy another twist on the Rocky Road then take a look at this concoction. I'm going to be making this as a gift for the lovely friends we will be spending Christmas with this year - once I've road tested it of course...yum, yum!

Have a wonderful (foggy here) day and what ever storm you're baking up - enjoy.
