Coastal Walking

How utterly rubbish the weather is today compared to how wonderfully gorgeous it was yesterday.

Though on saying that, thankfully at least the rain has stopped now and my coat has finally dried out from this morning.

Sorry - I really shouldn't start on a negative. Maybe it's because it's 'Blue Monday' today.

According to radio Kent this morning it is suppose to be the most depressing day of the year which falls on the third Monday in the month of January.

Though hopefully my pictures will clear some of the glooms away today. It really was glorious here yesterday - despite the breeze.

Anyhow, because it was soooooo nice yesterday we decided to wrap up warm and venture out for a walk along the coastline to Ramsgate.

~ kite surfers ~

This is such an exhilarating walk to do especially on a cold and blustery January day.

But you do have to time the tide right and wait until it's on the way out. Then you can pretty much walk from Broadstairs all the way along the coast to Ramsgate - stopping at the Belgium bar for a quick swift half or hot chocolate (in my case) then walk all the way back again.

If your feet don't feel like they are about to drop off that is.

Though if you do stay a little bit too long nursing that swift half (and your sore feet!) and the tide is looking a bit dicey then you can always cut through the park which sits along the cliff top and track back down to the coastal path a bit further along.

We didn't get as far as the Belgium bar! Though some of us could of kept on walking.

The littlest Boo was all worn out and even a shoulder ride was not going to coax her into venturing that little bit further with the promise of hot chocolate and a bag of chips for the walk home!!

Plus it was starting to get dark.

Hey ho - maybe next time.

Have a wonderful day and keep smiling - believe it or not it is getting a little lighter each morning and evening - I've been keeping watch.

Now that is something to cheer about!
