Lost at Sea
I've been lost in the land of bed knobs and duvets since the new year and it wasn't a case of too much of 'a bit of a do' on the 31st either - designated driver - that's me. Trying my best - in vain - to fight off the dreaded lurgy.
Swimming in layer upon layer of bed cloths, duvets, eiderdowns and pillows.
Sensing that I wasn't getting anywhere - in a well being kind of way - feeling swamped, shivery, too hot / too cold, aching all over like an enormous weight was on my shoulders, tired beyond belief and clutching - grasping - at trying to feel normal.
My mum confirmed it as flu. Good old mum - they do know best so yesterday I succumbed and did nothing but sleep - for most of the day.
I'm feeling a little better today, but ever so wobbly and a bit spaced out like someone has shoved my head full of cotton wool.
Easy does it.
Though now I feel our youngest has got the symptoms. Crashed out on the sofa, complaining of being 'oh so cold' even though she is submerged under a super padded eiderdown, holding on tightly to her little pink rabbit drifting in and out of sleep.
Now it seems my babe is lost at sea, battling to find her shoreline and shake off the nasty - naughty - lurgy.
Thank you for all your New Year wishes and I'm so sorry if I haven't said them to you personally yet. I did try and leave / reply to as many as I possibly could before weariness engulfed me.
And if you are a follower new or old 'hello' and a warm, warm welcome.
Also because knowing that I just won't be able to find the time 'Happy New' to one and all may all your dreams come true in 2011. Nina xxx
