Nourishment

With all the 'family' activity we've had going on around here recently I've found myself - which started off as a spot of baking - spending more and more time in the kitchen whipping up quick and easy grab able snacks or fulfilling satisfying quick meals in a bowl - soup to be precise.

Is it just my children that seem to be permanently hungry at the moment?

Does the onset of Spring with all its growth mean that the wilderness outside our doors are not the only beings sprouting at the moment?

Whether it's slow release carbs, bite size mouthfuls or any seasonal veg I can get my hands on they all seem to be hitting the spot.

I can fully recommend the pork pies - and I'm a very picky meat eater!

Unlike my hoard as they disappeared fresh out of the oven (once cooled - a little) so no pictures of my offerings I'm afraid.

Totally Lazy Mini Sausage Rolls

Pork Pies from - Baking Made Easy

The River Cottage - Celeriac Soup

Peanut Butter Banana Muffins from - The Genuine American Cookie and Muffin Book - with added Cadbury's chocolate on top as nothing beats peanut butter and milk chocolate....in the Tabiboo books.

Have a wonderful day - the sun is shining here and it's warm.

With a line full of washing and an oven full of quick make sausage rolls I'm feeling very contented at the moment - it doesn't take a lot.

Right mug of tea on the back door stop to soak up some of those rays now I think.

ps. thank you for all your birthday wishes for Florrie - she was completely bowled over.

Also with regards to the birthday cake bunting - no tutorial (sorry) because.......I found a pack of wooden mini bunting from a local shop and strung them up across the cake using skewer sticks.

These are the ones I have bought however for the eldest Boo's birthday cake - a bit more boyish - I think.

I do know however that you can purchase cake bunting from Etsy. Though I would think it is very easy to make. Hope that helps? N xxx
