Five went to Piddle

North Piddle in Worcestershire, England.........that is.

So this is what we did a couple of weeks ago.

We made a last minute booking - it's always the way in the Tabiboo household, never organised.....that's us.

We stayed in 'the most' gorgeous oldy worldly cottage nestled in fourteen acres, owned by a really lovely, welcoming, warm, ever so helpful and to be honest, down right splendid and nicest of couples (and their two daughters) in one of the best and beautiful parts of our country.

With the Malverns one side - we did climb them, but that's another story - and Bredon hill the other - I got to play at being a proper country lass for a whole week. Wellies in the porch and all.

In fact the whole holiday was kind of booked not only for the kids, who we wanted to get out into the countryside, to appreciate it and be able to explore a different part of nature - for a change - but so I could also get my fix.

My family are great that way - understanding the needs of this (sometimes) poor harassed mama.

We had fabulous weather, ate out every day 'oh' how my middle groaned - still is groaning! Visited wonderful places and saw things that you just would not see in our neck of the woods. Took in history, watched barges navigate locks and did a little shopping. The sunsets (and sunrises) were literally amazing.

We watched bats bomb around at dusk and stars pop out on clear nights and apart from the odd fox barking it was so, so quiet. The eldest Boo even borrowed a tent and pitched it up for the night.

I love this land for its wide open spaces and the cloud formations were truly spectacular. Forget the sea, I could spread out a rug and lay amongst the rustling grasses watching these drift along all day long.

But most of all we had a wonderful time - all five of us together. Relaxing, laughing, having fun and generally just chilling out.

It was one of the best UK breaks we have ever had and one we will be booking again.

Five went to Piddle - a great adventure, a wonderful holiday, an amazing time.

Thank you.
