Saturday Kitchen

An enormous amount of baking (and cooking) took place this weekend and if I'm honest it's probably the first time since Christmas I've really felt like spending a whole day doing nothing but pootling around in the warmth of the kitchen conjuring up soothing aromas to waft around the house with bare feet and pinny tied lopsided, randomly dancing to the mellowness of the radio softly playing in the background and baking.

Not quite a storm, but a fair amount of baking was achieved that's for sure.

But with a combination of new things to try out, the kids desperate to have a hand in the creations and Saturday being a drizzly old kind of day down here, the kitchen was - by far - probably the best place to be.

Plus we got to sample our makings - during - with bowls to be licked and spoons to be sucked and of course, most importantly......after.

I hope you had a lovely weekend too - don't they seem to fly by though? It only feels like yesterday when I was saying 'here's wishing you all a most wonderful weekend!'

{this is what the kids made}

...the only downside was - the tub of chocolate Philadelphia wasn't big enough.

Still nice though and not what you would expect in a cream all.
