Push open the gate and look up at the big blue sky the sun dazzling in your eyes.
Gaze in amazement at the wide open space, not a soul can be seen just the laughter of children can be heard, drifting in on the breeze.
Skirt along the field, keeping to the edge spying little nests dotted everywhere nestled in the hedges.
Birds call out in warning - mustn't step too close.
Find the odd feather discarded in the brambles and try to figure out who made all those little paths winding, snaking around the long grass - a cat or a fox - most probably the latter.
Look back across the field and smile at the little white cottage sat so proudly looking radiant in the afternoon sun with fluffy white clouds scuttling past.
Farm gates lay abandoned or left wide open. Tractor tyre tracks being the only evidence to their access.
Find the little pond hidden in the trees and jump as the startled duck quacks, retreating into the air.
Cowslips, primroses, blossom all showing off saying 'yes' it's really Springtime then chuckling as I look down and realise my choice (and colour) of footwear - my trademark yellow cons.....what else.
If I lived here the fields would be my playground.
This was last week - such a contrast to the blustery, rainy, thunderstorms and hale we are having this week.
Despite all that -
here's wishing you a most beautiful day.
