Beach hut weather

                                                                                                      not really!

So if you're new to my blog then you may or may not have noticed - we live by the sea.  Which also means 'yep!' - we have a beach hut.  Only seasonal really, but a beach hut we do have......well rent.

And to be perfectly honest they are really just sheds - well ours is - glorified sheds if it pleases, but a shed on the beach nonetheless with spiders and all.

The posh'er' huts are a bit further along.

We do have a jolly good sweep out at least once a week and I do try and tart it up a little with a bit of bunting and some pretty china, but to be honest the kids spend most of their time digging, filling up their buckets and then dumping sand, shells and gawd knows what else they find on the beach in and onto the floor - I'm not a very good housekeeper, at all......even in a shed.

This weekend wasn't really the weather for it even though the sun did shine in the afternoons, but 'blooming freezing' is putting it mildly - for May it is bitter down here on the South East coast......well it feels like it to me anyway.

So instead of slipping into my shorts and flip flops (top included......of course) and slapping on the sun cream we wrapped up in full Winter gear - woolly hats for some of us 'ahem!' and did the whole checking out of the newly acquired hut, plus putting some shelves as well - I didn't have the heart to chase the spiders out......not just yet.

I am keeping my fingers crossed though that the weather will buck up (it's ideas) in the next week or so as there is nothing better then being the first on the beach early in the morning, when a soul can not be seen for miles, lounging back in a stripy deckchair with the warmth of the sun tingling your face, sipping a cuppa and listening to the waves lapping as the children go off and play.

Hurry up please......pretty, pretty please.
