I'm Nina, a photographer, film maker and forever wanderer.  Passionate about nature, the great outdoors and all of life's adventures.  This is the place where I keep all my 'field notes'

Off to the lighthouse

                                                                                                               ......and a cliff top walk.

What really is going on in my head, what I really want to say is

We were steaming this weekend - don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining - but 'blimey' it was hot.

We are a family that doesn't really do the whole sit on the beach from dawn till dusk when the weather is scorching because {a} things get really crammed in this little seaside town of ours - and all around the coastline - and {b} because we can't really stand the sizzle......that's mainly the reason.

Which leaves us with the difficulty of 'where to go' and what to do' when the days are so glorious and there is only so much time you can spend in the back garden with three kids all requiring different things.

So we tend to go as far away from the maddening crowds as we dare venture, but not too far away because let's face it having the coast on your doorstep especially when the weather is so beautiful is somewhat of a bonus.  We are always a couple of degrees cooler because of the sea breeze.

Anyway, we took ourselves off on one of our favourite walks to North Foreland lighthouse for a stroll and a meander where we could look down and over at the beach, coastline and horizon where the mist seemed to gather.

Can you see all the cars parked on the cliff top below?

That's just one of the beaches that surrounds our coastline down here - it was absolutely heaving......well the carpark and beach.

To be honest, we completely avoided the town and main sands this weekend because the chaos of beach goers would of been triple!

We didn't make it as far as the pub for a swift half of something refreshing - little weary legs and all the heat - but we did get as far as the ice cream incentive so to speak.

If I can find the page with the map and route we take I'll add the link in due course, but at the moment the web page seems to be eluding me.

I hope you had a fabulous weekend and here's sending you warm wishes for the start of a wonderful week - it's the holidays next week......oh yeah!

Hello to Sara at musgo - the newest follower......warm welcomes - Nina xxx
