{Rhubarb and Asparagus}

 The first pickings from the allotment.

The rhubarb was transformed into a crumble - of course......what else would it be - served with gorgeous mascarpone cream.  So comforting and dare I say very British and totally warming on these 'blah' rainy days we've been having.

Not today though - it's been lush here.

And the asparagus was oven baked, wrapped in parma ham and served with slivers of 'proper' Italian parmesan scattered on top.

  Sometimes it's good to have a hubby that occasionally travels.

I plucked these pictures from my phone so sorry for the poor quality, but I've been teetering on the edge of a migraine all day - not quite fully blown, but a mother of a headache for sure.

So many apologies if I've been a little on the quiet side with regards to the blog - I know I need to reply to some emails.

I just needed to get out in the fresh air today so ended up escaping to the allotment to scare myself half to death with monster shed spiders which prevented me from having a break and a jolly good old strong cup of builders brew (the kettle and cups are in the shed) and finding disgusting slugs and snails!

The weeding can wait until the weekend!

Anyway, I hope you have a fabulous one (weekend that is or what ever you get up to) and I'm keeping *everything* crossed for some blooming lovely weather.
