Distant

I know, I know I should be celebrating Autumn - my most favourite season of all - with everything she has to offer - I just have this niggling feeling I'm not yet done with Summer.

Maybe it's because Summer never really got started this year and I'm sure it wasn't just in the UK. We had tasters granted, but I never really felt I got into the full swing of it.

Dipping your toes and finding out the water is warm is one thing, but a temptation like that wellll......naturally you would want to lower yourself right in and linger for a while feeling the embrace and tingle on your skin.  I never really felt we had that this year with our Summer.

So even though she is a long lost distant memory I'm still holding on to her......just - there is still the hope this season will be kind.

Of course the devastation around the country - nature and her elements - tells a completely different story.

We're fine here, up on a hill and far enough back......I think - though you never can tell. We get the brunt of the North sea on our little corner so the gale force winds can be pretty hair raising, but I think we are safe from the sea.

My hopes and wishes go out to everyone that have found themselves in some really frighting situations this week.  Either with the floods or the onslaught of the wind and rain.

Please take care, stay safe......warm and dry.  And please Autumn - be kind.
