The eve of Advent...and so it begins.
We always have two calenders to mark December 1st.
Newly bought a traditional advent calender pinned to the pantry door - this year behind each door the story of the nativity unfolds. The second a twenty four pocket handmade felt calender, each filled with a chocolate for all three children.
It takes a whole tin of Cadbury's Celebrations to fill all those little pockets - plus a few extra for me (nom, nom) as I set about the task....Maltesers are my favourite. This is the one that comes out each year...since the smallest became the eldest.
Though don't tell the children I've secretly bought a little calender for myself this year - just a small A5 one. There are three things I love about Christmas. The advent calender, a stocking filled with goodies and traditional carols. Apart from the last that will be cranked up come tomorrow I have to rely on the mister to provide my 'Christmas' stocking - he's not failed me yet.
Two out of the three are super excited, but as you can imagine the eldest boy is only interested in the latter - it's an age thing. And a topic that has taken all my powers of persuasion to ensure he doesn't spoil it for the younger two.
However you celebrate the start of the new month - the last in the year - 'hello December' - have a super fantastic weekend.
