Winter's end

In all my years I have never known it to snow in April and certainly not on my birthday!  But that's what it did (both times) this month, to our utter astonishment.

Of course I'm sure it has and my memory is just not serving me well, but the contrast between Winter and Spring was so apparent and yet utterly jaw dropping when we went to the Cotswold's for a mini two day break at Easter.

To see snow on the fields yet birdsong and the smell of blossom filled the air.  One local told us an old wives tale that this means more cold weather will come.  I hope not, for Springs sake.

Whether it will or it whether it won't my bets are firmly on Spring now winning the day when it comes down to the fisticuffs over who's rightful turn it is to host the season.

It was nice to have a last little play in the snow though.
