Three in a row
These are the last pictures I have. Unfortunately the cubs have not been spotted for a while and it's not a happy tale.
At the weekend we found out one cub had been taken (with much persuasion) to a vet after developing an unhealthy limp - it's believed it had been hit by a car. The cub was put down.
The second cub looked like someone had taken a pop at it. It had been found with a nasty gash across its head. I'm not too sure if it survived.
No sightings since.
It's a mixed bag of accounts - Chinese whispers you might say - some say they have seen the mum with a cub, others (like myself) have seen none since. Maybe the mum moved them on, to safer ground or maybe none survived...we are not sure.
I'm just glad I spotted them long enough to take a few pictures and enjoy their presence, even if I was a little scared.
In awe, but wary - respectful of nature - neither agreeing or disagreeing with the naysayers.
