Give me a bit of dirt and this is what I can do.
All that hard work, all those early mornings. The days and hours, the sweat, the tears, dirty hands and broken fingernails, the back breaking work in the sun and the rain (even the snow) and the joy when you spy the teeniest tiniest signs of growth. It is all starting to fall into place and it was/is 'all' so worth it.
And it's not over yet - this is only the beginning.
The more we pick the more appear, just like that - it's magic. We have a new battle on our hands, keeping up with the abundance of it all.
Every day more needs picking, digging up and harvesting. We have pots and pans on the boil daily, jars line the shelves, the freezer is filling up with the freshest of produce all waiting (ready) to be dipped into when the warm seasons start to turn.
Don't get me wrong - I'm not complaining...I absolutely love it. Even having the constant dirty, broken fingernails and all.
'Oh yes' give me a bit of dirt and this is what I can do.
