From the picking and prickles, scratches and sore fingers. To the quality control and sorting, prepping, stained hands and baking.

'Tis that time of year again.

We made crumble with early windfall apples - a little sour if I do say so myself, but with a generous dollop of vanilla ice cream whilst the crumble was still warm or straight from the fridge all cold and gooey with thick (clotted) cream - both dairies of the Cornish variety - it tasted just how it should, of late Summer and warm lazy August days...with a hint of Autumn on the way.

We're going back for more at the weekend with jam in mind.

What will you make with your blackberries this year.
