The light is still golden the day is still green the air is hushed with delicious warmth although the evenings are dwindling.
Busy, busy, busy. Children skip happily heading back to school chitter, chatter excitedly about how their Summer unfolded. Feet squeaky with shiny new shoes all brushed up and polished down - looking smart for the first new day.
Berries abundant on the trees, fruit weighs heavy on bowing boughs laden with apples, pears and plums.
Tomatoes ripen in the sun, pumpkins grow plump with each new day, courgettes turn to marrows and the sweetest of blackberries all whisper to me 'are we ready yet...is it time?'
Haefest monath - the Harvest month.
What a fabulous month September is - for all she has to offer. As we wave goodbye to Summer with slight melancholy, it was a good one though, beautiful wistful days made of lasting memories.
