We have conkers and all is well in my world.

Simple things please simple minds.......and all that!

Though as there were none to be found last year - not a jot - we are pretty chuffed to come home from a weekend in Surrey with our pockets stuffed to bursting...and then some.

'Mad!' you may say - 'not so' I whisper.  We use conkers to ward off spiders and by Jove they flipping well work.

Spiders hate conkers like moths hate lavender and cats lemons.  I guess it's the smell.

We do get the odd tiny one creep in unnoticed and hide itself in a corner, which is fine with me - they police the house of annoying flying things that like to irritate me, even on the calmest of days.  It's those huge big flipping things that appear out of nowhere and scuttle about, scratching at the walls, huge boggly eyes, all hairy with fangs.  Brrrrrr - the shivers that run down my spine just conjuring up an image.

But since the introduction of conkers we've had not one dare cross over the threshold of our home leaving me screaming spider, SPIDER............S P I D E R!!!!! And all shaken up.

It's either that or the cat eats them!  I do hope not.

Well with those lovely images placed in your mind....I best go.

Have a fab day.
