Hello! It's a dawn of another new week and the last in the school term - oh my goodness - how quickly that has come around. It was only the end of the Summer holidays like a week or so ago...wasn't it?!
Anyway, thank you for all your fabulous comments on my last post, it was so lovely to hear you all go 'WOW' as well. That was certainly going through my head at the time...and then some.
To be perfectly honest it was one of those extra blustery autumnal days and I was sat curled up on the sofa thinking 'shall I, shan't I?'...and I very nearly didn't. But 'oh' how glad I did.
I literally got soaked through to my smalls - but my camera was safe...thank goodness.
The waves where that powerful they were slamming into the side of the jetty with a thunderous 'boom' rising up and curling over then crashing back down again on the other side...drenching all those in its wake.
For most of the time I was safe perched on a bench with the rest of my fellow thrill seekers, but just as I was about to leave (and it must of sensed it!) a monstrous wave rose up from the depths and slammed down on us all.
I squelched all the way back up the hill with the biggest smile on my face stopping to pick the girls up from school who were agape (all the way home) at my nerve, daring and story telling. All the evidence was right before their eyes.
With their hands in mine they proudly laughed and squelched (if only verbally) skipping beside me, helping me make it that last few feet home glaring at any that looked at me as if I was 'that mad woman'. To the dry and the warmth...and a clean set of clothes.
Never turn down and opportunity because it's days like this that make it all the worth while.
