Summing up the December horizon {for me} ...

• Waves crashing against those iconic chalk white cliffs that line this South east coastline of ours.

• The lifeboat venturing into the bay, taking a head count, making sure all are safe then turning and heading back out again to the treacherous sea.

• That constantly changing sky with the colours of gold, red, orange and pink.

• Having the beach all to myself for only the brave or those that like a chill in their walk dare venture out at this time of year.

• Seeing the jagged outline - for as far as the eye can see - cliffs and coast dipping and curving around and off into the faraway distance.  And if you're lucky, on a clear day you can even make out the same shoreline of our neighbouring European countries.

• Boats rolling from side to side and banging into each other - the rigging snapping like a cracked whip as they take on the elements.

• And the swoop and call of seagulls as they search out the next tasty thing.

Have a beautiful weekend - we will be decking a tree with pretty things, probably drinking quite a lot of mulled something, singing carols very loudly (and very badly)  and getting very, very merry as the excitement and build up to Christmas starts to take over...I can't wait!
