The garden we've adopted in our 'year of renting' has a beautiful wrap around lawn and the children {if they had their way} would race back and forwards, all day long.

I however am not a fan of pushing a lawnmower back and forth endlessly trying to achieve a perfectly manicured lawn.  I have let it go somewhat.

Suburbia was never my thing but having a meadow has always been a dream.

The buttercups with the daisies, the clover and long grasses - weeds some might say, but the bumbles do love them even if our bare feet are not appreciated.

And then when I see the cat curled up in a spiralled nest he has made snoozing in the afternoon sun or spy one of the children hiding in amongst the long grass gazing up at the sky, cloud spotting.  I am even more convinced that it should stay.

Am I obsessing a little too much over something I find beautiful whilst others peer over in dismay.
