In the last week of August when most are winding down from the long Summer break and bracing themselves for the back to school, back to work, back to day, everything routine...we always seem to find ourselves planning on going away.
This year was no exception - we left it until the last minute...again.
But snuggled deep in the Slad Valley in Gloucestershire we found the perfect place...the perfect retreat.
Situated at the base of Swift's Hill, a hill we stomped up (almost) daily.
If we'd had a flag we would of planted it firmly and claimed it as a our own. Competition runs high and who's legs could conqueror the steep incline first was always the aim. And for those of us with little legs we could rest ourselves against the warmth of the AGA and spy the ones that did make it to the top, seen visible waving their triumph from the cottage window of our retreat.
for all your great tips - we loved the Slad Valley and the valley rewarded us well.
It was all we could of hoped for...and more.
