The Good Life Experience

It's not very often I get the weekend blues but after the one we've just had (four days on) I'm 'still' struggling to come down off my high.

Last Saturday we crossed the border into Wales to experience a slice of the good life.  I knew what the day would consist of as I'd seen the line up and had roughly planned our events - the things we liked and wanted to participate in the most.  But nothing prepared me for the kind of day we were in for or the amazing experience we would have.

Mr Natty was booked in for the boy, the mister needed coffee and beer and all the girls wanted to do was abseil....twice!  My needs were simple - I needed wood and fire.  I got to hang out with EJ of Hatchet & Bear and we carved spoons with a bunch of other lovely folk.  Then nestled under a canopy of trees the kids and I made our own camp fire, huddled watching it lick into life.

The weekend was jam packed with the very best on offer and we could of done so much more, but we wanted to take it all in and really focus on (and enjoy) the things we loved the most.  But next time and 'oh yes' I do believe plans are already being made for next year....I might even convince the man we need to camp to experience it all because in just a day we....

Met folks we admire, follow from afar, chat to but have never met, met but only briefly, carved, swayed, laughed, sung.  We lit fires, sampled and ate fabulous food, watched amazing demonstrations, and we all rubbed shoulders together in the most warm and welcoming atmosphere - like old friends you rarely see travelling from all over to share an amazing experience.

I knew 'The Good Life Experience' would be good, all our kind of things...the stuff we love.  I just didn't realise it would be flipping marvellous, the best thing (by a long shot) and an utter privilege to have been to in years.
