I seem to have jumped straight from long summer days were the holidays were easy living right into the middle of autumn.
The season of dark and dank, where earthy tones and misty mornings mingle with the smell of decay.
Maybe I've just been enjoying myself far too much, but it really is my most loved season of all.
Strange words for a spring babe, but I absolutely love the colours that wrap themselves around us. Autumn illuminates for me, with her yellows and oranges, reds and golds and the endless varying tones of brown.
Possibly it's because I'm a fire sign, if you believe in all that mumbo jumbo, that makes me seek out a fire on a cold afternoon and warm up my toes, enveloped in the waft of woodsmoke.
Who knows for sure. Even I can't put my finger on it to be honest, but I just bloody love autumn.
I feel like I'm home, safely cocooned in her arms.
