From the greens and oranges of pumpkins and squash to the freshly fallen walnuts gathered in the orchard, to the wonderfully varying coloured eggs laid by the hens.

Autumn still has plenty to offer the grower and forager.  Timing and organisation is the essence to this waining season.

It's not all about the potting, canning and preserving of summer.  Even if my larder shelves are weighed down with such produce.

Though those walnuts will pickle marvellously.
