June was filled with flowers and adventures for us.  Eventually.

To be fair, we just about limped our way towards her come the end of May, because sadness and dread knocked on our door.  But solidarity and resilience shone through our little community with so much pride.  Our town, city and country punched fear in the face, flicking it the birdie as our strength and togetherness grew.

June saw us travel across several borders, taking in the sights, tastes, language and sounds of a familiar, but very different way of life.  We've had endless study leave, tests, mocks and exams.  And opportunities that once a lack of confidence would of had us hiding in our hills, left us on a high, hoping and planning for the next one.

June has taught me many things, but most of all, two words have captured my imagination this month.

Strength and positivity.

Because without those, where would the courage come to keep moving forward.  Grasping life by the scruff of the neck.
