When my daughters were little they were always asking me, why do you take so many pictures? My answer to them was always the same.
Photography is not just about capturing a moment, it's about the making the memory.
But with the era of digital they've never really understood what I was trying to teach them.
Understandable really when pictures are stored on clouds and hard drives. It kind of takes the shared fun out of pouring over an album of pictures, laughing at our family mishaps. Remembering faces of loved ones and missed ones.
Inkifi based in Manchester has given us back that gift of shared times set aside and paused moments, reliving those beautifully memories captured. They print the most gorgeous pictures, either in photo form or in a book and even on a poster, if you wish.
For my girls it's a new way of seeing their family history, for me it's a forgotten time remembered. But just seeing them sat, side by side, gently flicking through their own photo book talking to each other about each picture and memory is worth every click of the camera.
Sustainable photo printing. It's the past fast forwarded to modern day times. Where the age of digital meets good old fashioned film.
Forget back to the future it's forward from the past.
